@TJCarpenterShow – tj@hogsportsradio.com – Return of the Podcast! We apologize to those of you who have been missing us the last month. But this is the start of something new. Something spectacular. Arkansas gets out-recruited but not out-played. The Razorback Basketball team looks for their first road win… again. Eli Manning proves that winning is about more than legacy. Do Mizzou and the Aggies know what they have gotten themselves into? I don’t think so.

PODCAST: Arkansas does more with less; Hog Basketball needs a road win
PODCAST: Arkansas Basketball is going to take some time to rebuild, Elway knows Tebow is here to stay
The Razorback Basketball program needs some help. Attendance is down, fans are concerned and the after all the program has been through there has been little good news yet when it comes to what the team is and is not capable of this season without their best player and little veteran leadership from Marshawn Powell. John Elway (pictured here when he played a double in Back to the Future II) knows Tim Tebow is a long term solution because of what he does for Denver’s relevancy in the NFL nation-wide, even if he won’t admit it. We break down the NBA before Free Agency starts and the NFL playoff picture. The Texans may have been super bowl contenders without all the injuries, but the just had to sign Jake Delhomme. I can’t take any team who signs Jake Delhomme seriously. As MJD of Yahoo Sports Shutdown Corner put it, “Jake Delhomme isn’t a quarterback, he’s a cry for help.” We talk with John Engleman of KFSM Channel 5 and Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports about the bowl picture and what Hogs are and aren’t going pro.

PODCAST: Brady saves the day, Is Arkansas subject to a bias?
Arkansas is not the greatest on defense. But neither are several teams ranked ahead of them. So why is Arkansas’ defense made such an issue of when Oklahoma St, Oregon and Clemson’s defenses aren’t? Tom Brady proves why he’s elite and Romo proves why he isn’t. Is a big picture approach making doing some of the smaller execution things more difficult for the Cowboys? Is a lack of supports for Primetime at the Palace an indication Mike Anderson doesn’t have adequate support from the fans? I don’t think so. Chris Bahn and Robbie Neiswanger talk Razorbacks and John Davis of the Oxford Eagle previews the Ole Miss game.

Rotnei Clarke’s Future Shouldn’t Sour Hog Fans
It had to be Butler. If Rotnei Clarke was going to play for any other coach than Mike Anderson, it had to be Brad Stevens. While many hog fans will have to fight the urge to root against Clarke because he left the fold because of burnt bridges and too many broken promises.
It wasn’t Anderson’s fault, and it wasn’t Clarke’s fault. But there was really no other option at the end of the day. While his time at Arkansas should be fondly remembered, the years ahead of him could be his best yet.

PODCAST: Mike Anderson and should college players get paid?
On today’s show Razorback head basketball coach Mike Anderson stops by to talk about what leadership means for his basketball teams, as well as his thoughts on what the one-and-done rule has done to college basketball and academics. Coach Anderson believes that while it has created parity in basketball it has made a mockery of academics. We also talk about Spring Practice, as there is now no official starter at quarterback and Brandon Mitchell and Tyler Wilson are splitting time with the first team this spring. Should college players get paid? It’s an issue without an easy solution, as college athletic departments, broadcasting companies, and even the NCAA itself profits massively on their talent, student athletes are hardly rolling in cash… unless of course the University decides to pay them anyway right? Ryan Mallett is continuing to get hammered by the national media for things he may or may not have done – also known as unsubstantiated rumors. Why does this double standard not being pointed out more often?

Soren Petro of The Program on 810 WHB Kansas City talks Bill Self, the Royals and Mike Anderson.
