Sports Night with TJ Carpenter: A Culture of Cover up and Fear should get PSU the Death Penalty

@TJCarpenterWHB – tj@810whb.com – Why should Penn State get the death penalty? Because it defines what “lack of institutional control” means. Not only did it display a lack of institutional control, but took that control gave it to a single man who abused it for well over a decade and likely longer. Penn State was out of control and the end result was the shattered lives of innocent children. Not every institution’s lack of control will result in what happened at Penn State, but why take that risk by not setting a precedent now?

LA’s Gun Buyback program included a Rocket Launcher

@TJCarpenterShow – tj@hogsportsradio.com - LA is a different place. The kind of place where the city will offer to buy your gun, and you think “Hey, don’t I have a Rocket Launcher laying around here somewhere?” One thing is for sure, they aren’t using these guns to go duck hunting or keep the possums off their porch. HellA…. HellNO!

Razorbacks get some big recruits in-state and upgrade the Jumbotron

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – Arkansas is upgrading their stadium video board to the size of a moon crater and they also picked up some great recruits from Fayetteville. (By the way, @JohnL_Smith might be unhealthily obsessed with the new video board) The ability to pick up solid recruits without a long-term head coach is essential in maintaining program stability and continuing to build for the future. With this strategy of hitting in-state hard now, and finalizing out of state later may just be the perfect fix for the Razorbacks.

PODCAST: Put Nolan’s name on Arkansas’ court

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – The University of Arkansas has done many things to honor Nolan Richardson’s contributions in basketball. But even after pep rallies and a documentary, isn’t it time to honor Richardson in a more permanent way? Putting his name on the floor would be the final piece of lumber laid to bridge a gap that once distanced once of Arkansas’ and College Basketball’s most legendary coaches. Chris Bahn discussed it with us, along with Blake Eddins and John Engleman of KFSM Channel 5. Also, we talk about the long term affects of conference realignment and what it means for the top of college football and the BCS. Does Roger Goodell make too much money? Roddy White thinks so.

PODCAST: Arkansas’ will reap their success on the field in recruiting with next class

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – Arkansas has traditionally been in the bottom third of the conference despite doing well nationally in recruiting. Many fans are frustrated with a lack of improvement in that department when it comes to how Arkansas is seen by most national recruiting services. All that will change with their next class. Anderson gets ready to take on another opponent on the road in hoops. Linsanity reaches Northwest Arkansas, but lets not make this about race, because it isn’t. Chris Bahn talks about Nolan getting the red carpet treatment for 40 Minutes of Hell. Kurt Helin breaks down Linsanity. Alex Mortensen talks about this past weekend’s combine.

We talk with Wallace Spearmon, Blake Eddins, Chris Bahn and Matt Moore of CBS Sports.

PODCAST: Jake Bequette and Dave Van Horn join the show

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – Today we talk with former Arkansas Razorback Jake Bequette about the NFL, and Coach Dave Van Horn about the Baseball Hogs upcoming season. We also rehash War Memorial’s feeble attempts to keep football interest with Jim Harris, and talk about a lackluster basketball performance against Georgia.

PODCAST: War Memorial Stadium talks expansion, but it will never happen

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – War Memorial thinks expansion talk will help them keep Arkansas interested in playing games there beyond the existing contract. They are mistaken. Josh Hamilton has a relapse. Manning may end up in Washington or Miami. Jim Delany all of a sudden wants a playoff. What are your favorite fake sports moments?

PODCAST: Arkansas does more with less; Hog Basketball needs a road win

@TJCarpenterShowtj@hogsportsradio.com – Return of the Podcast! We apologize to those of you who have been missing us the last month. But this is the start of something new. Something spectacular. Arkansas gets out-recruited but not out-played. The Razorback Basketball team looks for their first road win… again. Eli Manning proves that winning is about more than legacy. Do Mizzou and the Aggies know what they have gotten themselves into? I don’t think so.
